Circle of Life
Another successful Crawl
I have finally recovered from my exhaustion from the weekend. What a lovely Crawl. Thank you for coming out and supporting your local artists. It is lovely to meet new people, reconnect with old friends and celebrate the Arts together. Many people help make this event successful, including the Crawl board, the ED, many volunteers, all the artists, everyone who comes out to support us, the media, and all the sponsors. Thank you, all.

What honour to be able to create in dialogue with the dervish, with Raqib.
I did not see him, but I must have known that he was present.
Was I painting him, or was he holding the brush, or was there another presence guiding us both?

The photograph captures it all,
no need for additional words
to help paint the image of the moment.
But listen to the music,
it adds another element, another dimension
helping to better understand the moment.
Illusion of control
“Risk-taking” is one of those terms that even if used within an adventurous context has fear inherent in it. No wonder many people shy away from taking them, even if they are calculated and intelligent risks, where the probability of a positive outcome far outweighs the costs. There are certain risks that are not even worthy of considering, but then there are those that keep us awake at night, that make us wonder, make us pace, make us think: “what if?”
I’m thinking about those risks …. No, actually, I’m not thinking about them as risks anymore. They are blocks of fear, paralyzing us from moving forward, preventing us from living our calling, rooted in the false assumption that there is certainty in our world and that we are in control.
Once I reframe risk-taking, or better still, drop it from my vocabulary, I am free from the chains and shackles of fear, the one's controlling all my movements that are inspired from the heart.
